ASSOCIATION NEWS Spring 2001 Conference Report The theme of the Spring seminar was “Hot Button Issues facing the Logistics Industry.” The conference was held at the Pine Forest Country Club. The reviews from those attending indicated yet another on-target presentation. Of particular interest was the Bill of Lading, Released Value, and Cargo Liability area. The facilities (golf, food, meeting room, etc.) received a 10 rating. Some specific comments: Overall services, food & drink, “best we have ever had, convenient location with plenty of parking, etc.” Fall 2001 Conference Plans for the fall conference at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort, San Antonio, Texas, September 19 - 21 are materializing. The Reception Dinner will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday the 19th and the seminar and Membership Meeting are on Thursday the 20th. Golfers will tee off at 8:00 a.m. Friday the 21st with putting contest and luncheon and awarding of golf prizes following. The hotel group rate of $165 applies September 18 through Saturday 22. Some of our members will want to stay over Friday and Saturday to enjoy this outstanding facility. It is not too soon to make your reservations now. The cut off date for the group rate is August 20. Deposits are refundable if room is canceled three (3) days or more prior to the arrival date. The required one-day room deposit may be made by credit card.
