The ETA Foundation is a non-profit educational, and charitable community service organization created by the Energy Traffic Association to promote education in the transportation industry.  ETA represents more than 100 transportation related companies including industrial transportation and logistics managers, rail, motor, air, water and other logistic service providers.

Logistics Service Providers, Industrial Logistics Managers, Safety Personnel, Drivers, Dock Workers, Mechanics, Office Personnel - These are among the thousands of people each day who contribute to a strong, efficient transportation industry.

Many of the members of Energy Traffic Association (ETA) have a dependent or a professional colleague who is pursing studies with the objective of a career in a transportation related field.  The ETA Foundation would like to help some of these students in their efforts by providing scholarships preferably to Energy Traffic Association (ETA) company member employees or their dependents.

Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of their field of study, academic achievement, community involvement, leadership and financial need .  The Foundation will provide financial assistance for college students. Scholarships may be used to meet such expenses as tuition, books, and housing.

Eligibility: Applicants will be judged on academic achievement, financial need, relation to membership, number of hours enrolled and completed, recommendations, honors and awards, service, leadership and employment history. A preferred applicant will be an employee or a dependent of someone employed by a company with membership in ETA; and, pursuing a degree with the objective of obtaining full-time employment in the transportation, logistics or allied industries.

Application: A student seeking a scholarship should complete and send the following:  

1) Completed application with biographical information 

2) Copy of your transcript,  

3) Two letters of recommendation (prefer one from ETA member, plus one optional)  

4) an accompanying letter of intent.  This letter should include information on current and planned studies, career goals, interests, and the reason for applying for the scholarship.   

 

All the above documents are required to be considered for an ETA Foundation Scholarship. These documents should be mailed or faxed to the ETA Foundation, post dated no later than Deadline.  

 

Selection: Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Board of Trustees of the ETA Foundation and the scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient.

Awards and Deadlines: Scholarships are to be awarded at the annual Fall Conference.  Deadline for applications is September 30.

1.  ETA reserves the right not to award scholarships if no qualified applications are received. The number and amount of scholarships will be determined by ETA  Foundation and Scholarship committee.
