Position
Summary
As a
Transportation Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for finding new
business, growing and maintaining current business with our
customers, and securing profitable freight. You’ll assist in
employee development and training within your branch. If you are

Responsibilities
- Identify
customer needs and provide 3rd party logistics solutions
- Initiate
and maintain effective relationships with customers for branch
growth
- Negotiate
rates with customers to maximize profitability
- Oversee
day to day operations, ensuring freight coverage
- Mentor
and train staff to meet branch objectives
- Maintain
contact with other J.B. Hunt divisions for daily outsourcing
needs

Qualifications
- 4 year
degree with 1-3 years cargo brokerage experience or
- 3 years
direct cargo brokerage experience
- Previous
management experience preferred
- Excellent
analytical skills
- Must be
willing to be on call 24 hours a day
- Strong
negotiation and relationship management skills

Rail Manager
General Description
Responsible for all aspects of rail logistics for
CMC. This includes rate negotiations, railcar leasing and rail
operations. The rail manager is the subject matter expert for CMC in the
area of rail transportation. The Rail manager is responsible for fleet
management and ensuring optimization utilization of railcars for all CMC
locations.
Primary Responsibilities:

Main
contact with all railroads, leasing companies and other rail
vendors. |

Establish and implement processes for day to day execution of rail
operations. |

Responsible for fleet management – fleet sizing, maintenance of
owned, leased or railcar owned railcars.

Main
negotiator for all rail rates including bid packages with railroads.

Work
with procurement on procuring railcars for CMC use.

Requirements:

Rail Fleet Manager.
Reagent Chemical & Research, Inc.
is a 50 year, medium size, Private Corporation. We operate the
largest specialized railcar fleet for our product in the country
with 1,250 + dedicated railcars. This position is the Rail Fleet
Manager and team leader of a rail group of 4 based in the Galleria
section of Houston Texas. The office is located in a high rise
corporate center. We are looking for the right candidate with 7 +
years of experience as Rail Fleet Manager/Director with a history of
successful fleet management and negotiations with railroads.
The duties
include the management and coordination of all commercial and
logistical rail activities to ensure timely movement of our products
and ensure the efficient movement of our rail fleet. The Rail Fleet
Manager will negotiate with railroads for desirable rates and terms.
The Rail Fleet Manager is directly
responsible for maintaining an efficient, cost advantaged, company
transport fleet by maximizing rail turns per year and minimizing
demerge and directly responsible for on-time delivery performance
off the Reagent dedicated rail fleet.
The manager would
create and distribute daily schedules of rail shipments and
performance and tracking reports to management and ensures that all
reports, records, and documentation are kept accurately, orderly and
current.
Requirements:
The candidate
should have a BS or BA degree, a logistic or business curriculum
preferred, 7+ years experience in a rail fleet management role with
experience with bulk liquid products, and agree to allow Reagent to
verify supplied information. In addition the candidate should have
at least:
Knowledge of computer systems to include proficiency in MS Word, MS
Excel, MS Access, and MS Outlook and railcar tracking software.
The ability to monitor and schedule shipping and production orders.
Effective communication skills, good business acumen, and strong
organizational and problem solving skills.
The ability to recognize a problem or potential problem and take
appropriate action.
Must be able to respond to calls on a 24 hour emergency basis.
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
