Import Specialist I (Entry Level)

Our company is seeking a full-time entry level import specialist for the Rig Solutions group.

Qualifications/Requirements

·    Degree in Business or related field or equivalent work experience.

·    Familiar with import and export procedures and freight forwarding process;

·    Effective team player, ability to work with cross-functional teams and people from different backgrounds;

·    Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills;

·    Attention to details, fast learner

Job Duties:

·    Classify import merchandise in order to build and maintain an internal data base tying part numbers to CBP published HTS and Binding Rulings.

·    Train internal and external personnel on usage of database and importance of following guidelines as set forth in the Import Compliance Policy.

·    Pre / Post-audit CF7501 to ensure accuracy of filing and if necessary ensure post entry amendments are filed.

·    Conduct monthly meetings with Customs Brokers to address issues and indentify areas of improvement.

·    Audit import files to insure all supporting documents are included and accurate.

·    Provide Customs Brokers with correct HTS numbers and assist with classification of new products

Albemarle Corporation is seeking a Logistics Manger for its Bayport, Texas Location.

Job Responsibilities include:

o  Provide integrated Customer and Logistics services throughout the order fulfillment process, coordinating logistics with major suppliers, manufacturing managers and the supply chain group.

o     Manage and utilize master data in SAP and CRM system (Customer Relations Management systems), to include products, customers and pricing matrix data.

o        Develop and improve systems for processing and tracking logistics activities, to include distribution points.

o   Function as liaison between Manufacturing and Supply Chain personnel for communication of customer requirements of supply and shipment planning, to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.

o      Prepare and update production schedule, and insure and commit facility to delivery terms.

o      Manage daily activity to track location and movement of inventory, imports, exports, rail cars, truck and container shipments of finished goods and raw materials. Provide reports to internal and external customers as required.

o        Provide for the development and guidance of 5 direct and 10+ indirect reports, ensuring continuity and sustainability of operations.

o        Insure compliance with all state, federal, environmental, safety, and hazardous waste regulations.

Essentials Qualifications:

o        B.B.A. or B.S. PLM or related field, or equivalent experience.

o        Minimum 5 years experience in logistics, traffic and scheduling management in a chemical manufacturing plant.

o        Solid academic background and work history

o        Proficiency in MS Office - Word, Excel, Access

o        Proficiency in SAP, CRM systems

o        Specific training in logistics, traffic, domestic and international shipping, and inventory management.

o        Comfortable in working in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks under often tight deadlines.

Key Accountabilities:
